Tolman Boys' Basketball | Tigers rack up another win by outdueling Juanita Sanchez, 74-61

PAWTUCKET – It looked like a shootout at the O.K. Corral during the first half of Friday night’s Division II showdown between Tolman and Juanita Sanchez. The two top gunslingers in the division led the way. Miguel Prieto came in averaging 24 points per game for the Cavaliers while Tolman’s Steve Otis brought along his 21-point per game average.

Prieto nailed a long three-pointer early in the game and stared down Otis heading back up-court.

BOSTON – In essence, the Red Sox made two moves when they traded former PawSox catcher Dan Butler to Washington earlier this month. While one of them did not appear under the transitions listing, an unofficial memo was sent out regarding how the organization plans to proceed with Pawtucket’s catching situation in 2015.

PawSox | Radio broadcaster Levering gets call to big league role with Brewers

PAWTUCKET – The pipeline between the PawSox radio broadcasters and Major League Baseball has pumped out another talented personality. On Thursday, the Milwaukee Brewers announced that Jeff Levering, Pawtucket’s No. 1 broadcaster for the past two seasons, has been hired as the play-by-play broadcaster for select road games on the Brewers Radio Network. 
 

St. Raphael Boys' Basketball | Saints step up pressure to stop Wizards, 70-47

PAWTUCKET – Sometimes, basketball can be a pretty simple game.

St. Raphael Academy put on a clinic for five minutes in the first half of Thursday night’s 70-47 victory over West Warwick, going off on a 24-0 run that featured superb passing and brilliant shooting. The Saints ran their offense and found the open man time after time while breaking this game open midway through the first half.
