PROVIDENCE — The Providence County Grand Jury has indicted Pawtucket resident Justin Thomas, 26, with seven counts of first degree robbery, use of a firearm while committing a crime of violence, carrying a pistol without a license, three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, larceny over $1,500, resisting arrest and reckless driving, according to the Attorney General’s Office.
It is alleged that on or about Nov. 24, 2012, Thomas followed a pizza driver into the rear door of Domino’s Pizza in East Providence, where he pulled out a .32 caliber revolver and ordered everyone into a freezer. He allegedly demanded money from all the victims, as well as ordered one employee to clean out the cash from the register.
When East Providence Police arrived on scene, Thomas allegedly fled out the back door, and, during a police pursuit, jumped into a police vehicle, which he crashed into another police vehicle.
Thomas, who is being held without bail, is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on March 1.
The Grand Jury has also indicted Pawtucket resident Darrell Johnson, 20, with murder, discharge of a firearm while in the commission of a crime of violence and carrying a pistol without a license.
It is alleged that on or about July 6, 2012, Johnson shot and killed Joshua Burgo using a firearm he was not licensed to carry. The alleged event took place in Pawtucket and the Pawtucket Police conducted the investigation. Johnson, who is being held without bail, is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court Friday, March 1.
