William J. Vaudrain
PAWTUCKET - William J. Vaudrain, 81, died unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital, New Bedford on Monday, September 16, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Jean (Auger) Vaudrain for 58 years. He was born in Pawtucket, the son of the late Noel and Leda (Ouellette) Vaudrain and was a lifelong resident of Pawtucket.
Mr. Vaudrain was a foreman for Rayco, an automotive textile manufacturer until his retirement. He was the shop steward and grievance officer for his local union. He was an avid sports fan and especially liked the Red Sox. He coached for the Darlington National Little League. He umpired softball and baseball for many years for various leagues in the area. He was a proud veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Korean War.
In addition to his wife he leaves four sons, William J. Vaudrain, Jr. and fianc Cindy Fallon of Warwick; Mark and wife Cindy Vaudrain of Steubenville, OH; Kenneth and wife Tracy Vaudrain of Putnam, CT, and Gregory and wife Laura Vaudrain of Pawtucket. He was the grandfather of Nicholas, Katherine, Nicholas A., Michelle, Kimberly, Christopher, and Robin Vaudrain. He was the brother of Claire, Mildred, and Donald Vaudrain and was predeceased by nine other siblings.
His funeral will be held from the Darlington Mortuary, 1042 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Church of St. Leo the Great, Blessed John Paul II Parish at 9:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in Rhode Island Veteran's Cemetery, Exeter, RI. Calling hours Friday, September 20, 2013 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.
