Volunteer painters spruce up the halls of Goff Middle School

January 20, 2014

PAWTUCKET — It was a colorful way to spend Martin Luther King Day. While students and most of the staff enjoyed the Monday off, about 170 AmeriCorps volunteers descended upon Goff Middle School to paint the hallways in cheery citrus yellows and greens.

The AmeriCorps volunteers were joined by Principal Lisa Ramzi, Assistant Principal Maria San Martino-Clinton, and a half dozen other teachers and staff members on the project, which was designed to freshen the second- and third-floor hallways. Sen. Jack Reed, an AmeriCorps supporter, also stopped by to tour the school and say hello to the volunteers.
