Virginia M. Mandeville
CUMBERLAND - Virginia M. (Howard) Mandeville, 91, of Cumberland passed away Monday at the Oakland Grove Healthcare Center, Woonsocket. She was the beloved wife of Maurice M. Mandeville, and they had been married for 69 years.
Born in Hampton, VA, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Anna (Gilgannon) Howard. She resided in Cumberland for over 50 years.
Mrs. Mandeville was a School Lunch Attendant for the Cumberland and Coventry School Departments for many years.
She was a communicant of St. Patrick Church, Broad Street, Cumberland. Mrs. Mandeville was a member of the St. Patrick Seniors, St. Aidan Seniors and a AFSCME, Local 94 union member.
Besides her beloved husband, she leaves her sons, John F. Mandeville and his wife Debara of Colorado and Paul A. Mandeville and his wife Kathleen of Virginia; her daughters, Margaret V. Laston and her husband Chet of Burrillville and Geraldine M. Peixoto and her husband Jorge of Cumberland; her sisters, Shirley Brady of Charlestown, and Joan Filucci of Baltimore, MD; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Linda A. McCaffrey and sister of the late Rita Howard.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday at 9 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Patrick Church, Broad Street, Cumberland. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be held Friday from 4 to 8 PM.
