Three firefighters hurt in Lincoln blaze

July 21, 2014

LINCOLN — A fire breaking out in a motor vehicle inside George’s Towing and Auto Repair at 25 North Crow Point Road Monday afternoon caused heavy damage to the metal commercial building and non-life threatening injuries to three local firefighters working to put it out.

Police Capt. Philip Gould said the department received a call from an employee at 25 North Crow Point Road reporting fire inside the building at 1:12 p.m.

“They were working on a vehicle inside the building and the vehicle caught fire,” Gould said.

All of the employees of George’s Towing inside the large garage building at the time were able to get out safely, Gould said.
The fire call was handled by the Saylesville Fire Department with the assistance of other Lincoln departments and units from Central Falls, Pawtucket and other nearby communities.
