CUMBERLAND - Therese M. Landry, 91, died peacefully Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the Grandview Center, Cumberland. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert E. Landry for 59 years until his death in 2000.
Therese was born in Point St. Charles, Montreal, Canada, the daughter of the late Zephirin and Fredoline (Turenne) Beaudoin. She came to Central Falls at the age of 11 where she was raised by her aunt Juliette Gendreau and her grandfather William Beaudoin. She resided in the Blackstone Valley for the remainder of her life. She was a devoted homemaker and was active in the Boys and Girls Scouts. Her greatest joy was caring for her grand and great-grandchildren.
Therese was a communicant of Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph's Church, Pawtucket, and a former member of St. Aidan's Church in Cumberland.
She is survived by her children; Paul (Janis) Landry of Lincoln; Constance (John) McCann of Pawtucket; Janine (Gerald) Vaccaro of Bristol; and Diane (Ronald) Blain of Cumberland. She was the cherished Memere to 16 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren and aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Gerard Landry and sister of the late Gerard and Benjamin Beaudoin.
Her funeral will be held from the Darlington Mortuary of L. Heroux & Son, 1042 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Resurrection at St. Joseph's Church, 195 Walcott Street, Pawtucket at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Daggett Avenue, Pawtucket. Calling hours in the funeral home Monday, January 21, 2013 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island or the Soup Kitchen Ministry of St. Joseph's Church would be appreciated.
