PAWTUCKET — A Japonica Street teenager was injured on Saturday after he accidentally dropped an illegal shotgun that he was showing to a friend and it went off, striking him in the arm.
According to Pawtucket Police Major Arthur Martins, the victim, 18-year-old Eric Dossantos, was inside his apartment when the incident occurred at around 4:20 p.m. He suffered what was described as a serious wound to his arm and was transported to a local hospital, Martins said.
Dossantos was later arrested on charges of possession of a sawed-off shotgun, possession of marijuana, and firing in a compact area, Martins said.
