Rufus C. Aldridge
PAWUCKET- Rufus C. Aldridge, 82, died peacefully Monday, September 30, 2013 surrounded by his loved ones. He was the beloved husband of Laurel A. (Kenney) Aldridge for 36 years.
He was born in Gainesville, Texas. He was the son of the late
Grady and Rachel (Dennis) Aldridge. He lived in Pawtucket for 36 years. Rufus was a lineman for the Boston Edison Electric Company, now NSTAR Electric before retiring. He also worked at Cadillac Mills for several years. He was a proud veteran of the U. S. Navy serving honorably during the Korean War. Rufus was a well-known and talented square dance caller throughout New England. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, Seekonk.
In addition to his wife he leaves his children Michele, Desiree, Paul, Kay, and Sherri; his siblings Rachel, Elizabeth Ann, David, and John, and 10 grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors in the Darlington Mortuary, 1042 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket on Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 4:00 6:00 p.m. A private service for the family will follow at 6:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island Cancer Center in his memory would be appreciated.
