Robert A. Booth

PAWTUCKET - Robert "Bob" Arthur Booth, 66, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, September 7, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Mary T. (Sullivan) Booth. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Benjamin Franklin Booth and the late Clara (Curiczak) Booth.
Bob was a Vietnam War U.S. Air Force veteran who was stationed for a year in Bein Hoa, Vietnam. He was a graduate of Rhode Island College and worked as the Associate Director of Publications at Providence College where he spent 22 years before retiring in 2010. After retiring, he started his own electronic publishing company, Necon E-Books. He fought a courageous battle with cancer and accomplished much in his last eight months.
Besides his loving wife of 40 years, he leaves two children, Daniel W. Booth and Sara A. (Booth) Calia and her husband, John all of Pawtucket; three grandchildren, Jillian Booth, Sean Calia and Jeannine Calia. He was lovingly referred to as Papa and enjoyed the time he spent with them. He also leaves behind his mentee, Matt Bechtel; an uncle, Robert Booth, several nieces, nephews and many cousins, as well as a large, extended Necon Family. He was the brother of the late David A. Booth. We owe a debt of gratitude to the Cancer Center and the staff at Memorial Hospital. He will be greatly missed.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 8:30 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave. VISITATION will be Friday 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904 will be appreciated.
