Raymond Joseph Glode, Sr.

PAWTUCKET - Raymond Joseph Glode, Sr., 86, of Chaplin Street, Pawtucket, died on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Hospice Facility in Providence. He was the husband of Alice G. (Jerauld) Glode to whom he was married on April 14, 1951.
Born in Pawtucket on April 1, 1926, he was a son of the late Alexander and Augustine (Langlois) Glode.
Mr. Glode was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War era.
He was employed as a jewelry polisher for various jewelry companies in the greater Attleboro area including Creed Rosary in North Attleboro for several years.
Born and raised in Pawtucket, Mr. Glode had also resided in South Attleboro and Attleboro.
He was a communicant of Blessed Pope John Paul II Parish, formerly St. Leo Roman Catholic Church, in Pawtucket.
His favorite pastimes were fixing, cleaning and detailing automobiles and playing the guitar.
In addition to his wife of 61 years, he leaves five sons: Raymond J. Glode, Jr. of Cumberland; Robert Glode of Attleboro; Roger W. Glode of North Smithfield; Ronald F. Glode of Riverside, New Jersey and Randy R. Glode of Braintree; two sisters: Rita Leblond of Pawtucket and Doris Brunelle of Greenville; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
He was the father of the late Russell J. Glode who died on July 7, 2003.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation with Veteran's Honors on FRIDAY, November 23, 2012 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on the left) Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on SATURDAY, November 24, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Blessed Pope John Paul II Parish at St. Leo's Roman Catholic Church, 697 Central Avenue, Pawtucket with the Rev. Dean Perri, officiating.
Burial with military honors will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mr. Glode's name may be made to the Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
