Public hearing set on city budget

PAWTUCKET—The City Council will hold a public hearing on the proposed annual operating budget for fiscal year 2015 at its regular meeting on Wednesday, May 7 at 7 p.m. in City Hall.
The public will have a chance to comment on the spending plan for the city as presented by Mayor Donald Grebien. The proposed budget of $112.3 million is about $1.6 million higher than the current operating budget of $110.7 million, an increase of 1.47 percent. The proposal involves no tax increase for residential or commercial property owners, tangibles or motor vehicles.
