Morris J. Leonard
CUMBERLAND - Morris "Mike" J. Leonard, 82 of West Wrentham Rd. passed away Wednesday in the Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the beloved husband of Lillian B. (Philbin) Leonard.
Born in Pawtucket he was the son of the late Michael and Mary (Fitzgerald) Leonard. He resided in Pawtucket most of his life and moved to Cumberland 12 years ago.
He was employed as Credit Manager for the Petroleum Heat and Power Co. (PETRO), Providence for 17 years retiring in 1994. Previously he was Credit Manager for the Beneficial Finance Co., Pawtucket for 25 years.
Mr. Leonard was a communicant of St. Joan of Arc Church, and was also a member of the Over the Hill Gang, Fall River. He also enjoyed playing cards at the Lincoln Senior Center and was a passionate fan of The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.
Beside his wife he leaves five children, Michael Leonard of Pawtucket; Lynn Risica and husband Anthony of Franklin; Patrick Leonard, PFD-Ret., and wife Lori of Wakefield; John and wife Susan Leonard of Warwick and Brendan Leonard and wife Christina of Southborough, MA. He also leaves ten grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rte. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Church, Mendon Rd., Cumberland. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Calling hours Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dialysis Center of Woonsocket, 2100 Diamond Hill Rd., Woonsocket, RI 02895. Directions/guestbook:
