Mary H. Szczoczarz
CUMBERLAND - Mary H. Szczoczarz, 90, of Minerva Avenue, passed away Tuesday at Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. She was the wife of the late Michael J. Szczoczarz Sr.
Born in Clinton, MA, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Matisewski. She resided in Cumberland for most of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Patrick Church, Cumberland. She was a member of the Polish White Eagles Women's Society. She loved gardening, cooking, and sewing. She enjoyed spending time with her family, but most of all her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She leaves two daughters; Carolyn Raso and her husband Joseph of West Greenwich; Helen LeBlanc; two sons; Michael J. Szczoczarz Jr., and his wife Deborah of Rehoboth, MA and James Szczoczarz of Cumberland; one brother, Walter Matisewski of Pawtucket; four grandchildren, Michael Szczoczarz III, Jason Szczoczarz, Matthew Szczoczarz, and Laura Szczoczarz; three great-granchildren; Ashley and Kazzie Szczoczarz and Paige Wilcox. She was the mother-in-law of the late Cal Leblanc, and grandmother of the late Gene Brouillette, and sister of the late Stanley Matisewski, Joseph Matisewski, and William Matisewski.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday at 9 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in the St. Patrick Church, Broad Street, Cumberland. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be held Friday, 4-8 PM.
