Maria M. Tetreault
PAWTUCKET - Maria M. (Duval) Tetreault, 102, passed on at St. Jeanne Jugan Residence, 964 Main Street. Born in Central Falls on May 21, 1910 one of twelve children, now all deceased, born to the late Joseph P. and Donalda (Gendron) Duval. She lived in Seekonk most of her life, working at Gladding Department Store before retiring, moving to Saunderstown with her husband Larry. They both became very active in starting the Senior movement in South County, purchasing a barn from the Bishop located at St. Domenic Savo's retreat and camp. After a year of working every day, turned the barn into the first senior center in Peacedale, serving South County, named the Larry Tetreault Senior Center. Maria was a champion Cribbage player, even at 102.
She was the beloved wife of the late Larry Tetreault. Loving mother of Roger Tetreault and his wife Barbara of Rehoboth and the late Cecile and Paul Tetreault. She is also survived by many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 4-7 pm at The St. Jeanne Jugan Residence, 964 Main Street, Pawtucket. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 11 o'clock in St. Teresa of the Child Jesus Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket. Burial will be private.
