PAWTUCKET - Mae Elliott (Titcomb) Ireton, 95, of 74 Elder St., died Tuesday, April 23, 2013 after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family. Mae was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend.
Born in Pawtucket, the daughter of the late Frederick A. and Martha Louise (Elliott) Titcomb, she lived in Pawtucket most of her life.
She is survived by her daughter Sandra Mae Baldwin and her husband J. David of Pawtucket; three grand-children Rhodora LaFountain and her husband Phil, J. David Baldwin Jr. and his wife Lori, and Rhonda Chabot and her husband James. She also leaves 9 great-grandchildren Erin Martin and her husband Wallace, Philip LaFountain Jr. and his wife Jen, Joshua Chabot, Timothy LaFountain and fianc Brittany Gomes, David Baldwin III and his wife Lyndsay, Heather LaFountain, Elizabeth Butler and her husband Andrew, Christopher Baldwin, and Daniel Chabot. She also leaves 5 great-great-grandchildren London Martin, David Baldwin IV, Isabelle LaFountain, Isabella Baldwin, and Julius Saint Butler.
She is predeceased by her husband Marine Sgt. Earl Ireton, who died in 1946 returning from World War II, her brothers Fred Titcomb, Frank Titcomb, and her sister Etta Titcomb.
Mae worked as the secretary of the President of the Balfour Company in the 1940's and 50's, and became an LPN and worked at Butler hospital in the 1960's. She was very active in the Church of the Nazarene in Pawtucket holding positions of church secretary, missionary president, Sunday School superintendent, and as an active choir member.
Relatives and friends may call at MERRICK R. WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, 530 Smithfield Ave. Pawtucket, RI, THURSDAY, APRIL 25 from 5-8 P.M. There will be a life celebration service at 10 A.M. at Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene, 470 Smithfield Ave, Pawtucket. Her burial will be in Moshassuck Cemetery, Lonsdale Ave. in Central Falls, RI. Following service and burial family invites friends and family to return to Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene to continue the celebration of her amazing life.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mae's memory may be given to Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene, 470 Smithfield Ave., Pawtucket RI 02860 to go toward the steeple restoration.
