Lawrence Donald Reedy
CUMBERLAND - Lawrence Donald Reedy, 82, of Vista Drive, passed away Tuesday at the Miriam Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of Mary C. (Collins) Reedy, and they had been married for 61 years.
Born in Brooklyn, NY he was the son of the late John and Estelle (Osiecki) Reedy. He resided in Cumberland for most of his life.
He was the owner of Sewbiz Industries.
Besides his beloved wife, he leaves his sons, Lawrence D. Reedy Jr of Cumberland, Michael P. Reedy of Newport, Thomas E. Reedy of Cumberland, daughters, Pamela A. Marsland of Cumberland, Susan M. Vecchio of Cumberland, and Sharon A. Cerveny of Lincoln, son Gary P. Reedy of Cumberland; sister, Patricia Martin of North Smithfield; 18 cherished grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren as well as two nephews and one niece.
Larry was involved with The Community Players for many years, directing and serving as president. He received the A.T. Cross Community Action Award & initiated a scholarship fund for the performing arts.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday at 9 AM from the JJ Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Patrick Church, Broad Street, Cumberland. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Curran Road, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be held Friday from 4 to 8 PM.
