EAST FALMOUTH, MA - Laurent G. Tessier, 73, a loving and devoted father passed away Friday, October 25, 2013 at Falmouth Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born in Central Falls, RI, the son of the late Lionel and Annette (Bessette) Tessier. He resided in the Blackstone Valley area for many years before moving to Cape Cod. Mr. Tessier was a self-employed talented carpenter and cabinet maker retiring several years ago.
In his youth he was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church where he served as an altar boy. Larry was an athlete, a drummer, a lobsterman, a gardener, and a youth baseball coach but most importantly Larry was a loving and devoted son, brother, and father.
Laurent was a proud veteran of the U. S. Navy serving in the late 1958 - 1963.
He leaves a son Marc (Dyana) Tessier of East Falmouth, and two daughters Christine (Cameron) Astin of East Falmouth, and Michelle Murphy of Mashpee; a brother Leonard B. Tessier of Pawtucket, and two sisters Madeleine Boudreau of S. Attleboro, and Rita (Vincent) Bouthellier of Rumford; five grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He was the former husband of Heather Tulloch.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. at the Darlington Mortuary, 1042 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Cecilia's Church, Blessed John Paul II Parish, Central Avenue, Pawtucket at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Daggett Avenue, Pawtucket.
In lieu of flowers donations to St. Jude's Hospital for Children would be appreciated.
