LINCOLN â€” A Lincoln police officer who was found guilty in January of felony battery with a dangerous weapon for kicking a handcuffed woman in the head outside a slot parlor in 2009, has resigned, Lincoln Town Administrator Joseph Almond announced Wednesday.
â€śEffective Aug. 10, 2012, the Town of Lincoln has accepted an unconditional and irrevocable resignation from Officer Edward Krawetz,â€ť Almond said. â€śThis action has allowed the town to avoid the inherent uncertainty of costly and time-consuming litigation and appeals which would inevitably ensue if this matter remained unresolved.â€ť
