CUMBERLAND - Joyce L. Desjardins (Case), 72, of Mendon Rd. passed away Sunday in the Memorial Hospital, Pawtucket. She was the beloved wife of the late Russell Desjardins.
Born in Central Falls she was the daughter of the late Ivan W. and Mary L. (Donahue) Case. She was a life long Cumberland resident.
Mrs. Desjardins was employed in the Medical Records Department at Sturdy Memorial Hospital for 8 years until her retirement. Previously she and her husband operated the former Pete's Market on High Street.
She loved music and was a member of the Country Music Association and the RICH Association.
She leaves two daughters; Deborah Desjardins (Mark Baptista) of Attleboro and Susan Hollis (Stephen Hollis) of Rehoboth. She was also the sister of Pamela Prophet of North Carolina and Milton Case of Florida. She also leaves two granddaughters; Victoria and Kerrin Hollis both of Rehoboth. She also leaves her companion of 8 years Lester Dubke.
A celebration of her life will be held Thursday with services at 10 a.m. in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rte. 122, Cumberland. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Calling hours Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Directions/guestbook:
