James T. Gallella
CUMBERLAND - James T. Gallella, 77, of Angell Road, passed away Sunday at The Friendly Home, Woonsocket. He was the husband of Frances (Malloy) Gallella.
Born in Stoneham, MA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anne (Hastings) Gallella. He resided in Cumberland for most of his life.
Mr. Gallella was a communicant of the Historic St. Joseph Church, Mendon Road, Cumberland.
Jim was the owner and operator of Gallella's Barber Shop in the Berkley Section of Cumberland. He was a former volunteer of the Ashton Fire Department, and a member of the Dennis Pines and Dennis Highlands Golf Association.
Besides his wife, he leaves his daughters, Beth McIntyre of Cumberland, and Corey Axelson of Cohesset, MA; and his twin sister, Rita O'Melia of Stoneham, MA; five grandchildren, Casey and Jamey McIntyre, Dylanne, Mackenzie, and Danny Axelson; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late James "Jay" Gallella and brother of the late Joseph Gallella.
A celebration of his life will be held Thursday from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland with Visiting Hours from 9-10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM in the Historic St. Joseph Church, Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Mendon Road, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
