J. Raymond Vadnais
PAWTUCKET - J. Raymond Vadnais, 80, passed away peacefully in Providence on Monday, June 17, 2013. Born in Central Falls, the son of the late Raymond and Angelique (Genereux) Vadnais, he resided in Pawtucket for the past 34 years.
He was a graduate of the former Sacred Heart Academy, Central Falls and Providence College, Class of 1954. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a 1st Lt., principally in Europe as a French Translator. He was an avid fan of Friar Basketball and the Boston Red Sox. He enjoyed a 35-year career with the Liberty Mutual Insurance Co., retiring in 1992 as a Claims Supervisor. He was a longtime communicant and benefactor of St. Cecilia Church, Pawtucket.
Mr. Vadnais is survived by several cousins including, Mary (Duffy) Langlois of Boston, Jay Duffy of North Attleboro and David Duffy of North Kingstown.
VISITATION will begin Saturday at 9 a.m. at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Cecilia Church, 755 Central Ave., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the Raymond & Angelique Vadnais Scholarship Fund, C/O Catholic Foundation of RI, 1 Cathedral Sq., Providence, RI 02903 will be appreciated.
