Isabel Silva Correia
PAWTUCKET - Isabel Silva Correia, 91, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL passed away peacefully on May 26, 2014, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Born in Fall River, MA and raised in Portugal before returning to the United States. She lived most of her life in the Pawtucket, East Providence area until moving to Florida in recent years.
Isabel was the daughter of the late Manuel and Cacilda DaSilva. A loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt; she is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 72 years, Antonio Duarte Correia, her loving son, Armando Silva Correia and his wife Lorraine Correia of Palm Beach Gardens, Fl, a loving grandson, Christopher Anthony Correia, and great grandchildren. In addition, she leaves to cherish her memories, one brother, Ernesto Neves and a sister, Candida Albuquerque, both of Portugal and the late Armando DaSilva, along with several nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
Isabel lived each day of her life to the fullest with great compassion for others.
Throughout her life, she helped assisted may family members from Portugal settle in the United States.
She enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday June 17, 2014 at 9 AM from the JJ Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM in St. Theresa Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket. Private burial ceremony will take place at the convenience of the family.
