ATTLEBORO - Frank M. Swistak, 89 of Read St. Attleboro, died Sunday March 31, 2013.
He was the husband of the late Yvonne M. (Ouellette) Swistak.
Frank was born in Attleboro, a son of the late Frank & Antonina (Kogan) Swistak.
Mr. Swistak, was a jewelry polisher for Foster's Jewelry Company.
A lifelong Attleboro resident, he was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII, as a Private First Class, as a Heavy Mortar Crewman, where he received the combat badge, and the Bronze Star. Mr. Swistak, was very proud of his military service.
Frank, had attended the former St. Mary's Church in Seekonk, now Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church.
He had enjoyed making crafts, sculptures, and spending time in his garden.
Frank was an avid fisherman, and liked spending time with his family.
He is survived by 2 sons Frank Swistak of Denver Colorado,Patrick Swistak of Attleboro, 2 daughters Yvonne Swistak of Attleboro, Corrine Schirmer of Attleboro, a daughter in law Doris Swistak of Attleboro, a sister Gertrude Dufort of Attleboro.
He was the grandfather of 15, and the great grandfather of 17, also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Thomas Swistak, Michael Swistak, and the late Carolyn Swistak.
Mr. Swistak was the brother of the late John, Louis, Joseph,Eddie Swistak, Anna Minoti, Victoria LaMarsh.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday April 13, 2013 at 10:00am in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Coyle Drive, Seekonk, burial will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours and flowers are omitted.
