Francis A. Szumilo
CENTRAL FALLS Francis A. "Frank" Szumilo, 90, passed away Friday May 24, 2013 at Harris Health Care North. He was the beloved husband of Genevieve V. (Zakowski) Szumilo. They were married 64 years.
Born in Central Falls he was a son of the late Stanley and Sabina (Peliksza) Szumila. He was a life long resident of Central Falls.
Before retiring Frank was employed as a Maintenance Supervisor for the former Health-Tex Manufacturing Co.
Mr. Szumilo was a WWII Navy Veteran serving in the Pacific as a Machinist Mate Second Class. He was a member of the Fierlit-Korzen A.L. Post 79 and the Eugene T. LeFebvre V.F.W. Post 1271 both of Central Falls.
Besides his wife he leaves his loving children Bernadette Parrillo and her husband Arthur of Coventry, Daniel F. Szumilo of Central Falls, Peter Szumilo and his wife Darlene of Pawtucket. He also leaves one brother Stanley Szumila and his wife Cynthia of Central Falls, nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Monica Reilly, Anna Bryant, Helen Such and Sophie Golda.
A Funeral with Military Honors will be held Wednesday May 29, 2013 at 8:30 a.m. from the Karol A. Romenski & Sons Funeral Home 342 High Street Central Falls with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Church 391 High Street Central Falls at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend. CALLING HOURS WEDNESDAY MORNING FROM 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
