PAWTUCKET - Claudia Read Champoux died Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the Philip Hulitar Center, Providence after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Marcel Andry-Bourgeois.
Claudia was born in Pawtucket, the daughter of the late Jean and Ruth (Donovan) Champoux, and was the second cousin of the late Arthur Champoux, and was a lifelong resident of the Blackstone Valley. She attended Classical High School, and was a member of the debating team. She was a summa cum laude graduate of Brown University. Claudia was a poet, of extraordinary depth, intellectual passion, and imagination. She was also a bluegrass/gospel singer, and loved to sing, and listen to many genres of music from JS Bach, Handel, Purcell, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Mozart, Wagner, The Whites, Country Gentleman, Joni Mitchell, and early German baroque. Claudia was an avid swimmer, and enjoyed flower gardening.
Her husband is her only immediate survivor.
Friends are invited to a celebration of her life at the Saylesville Friends Meeting House (Quakers), 374 Great Road, Lincoln, RI on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 1:00 p.m.
