City man pleads to murder of Providence teen

PROVIDENCE – An 18-year-old Pawtucket man pleaded guilty on Thursday to his role in a Providence shooting that killed 17-year-old George Holland Jr. of Providence.

According to the state attorney general’s office, Alain Bedame, with a last known address of 280 Weeden St., pleaded guilty before Superior Court Justice Robert D. Krause to second-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder and discharging a firearm while committing a crime that resulted in injury. Under the agreement, he will testify against his co-defendants in the case.

Pursuant to his plea, Bedame is facing a maximum sentence of life plus 20 years. He will be sentenced at a later date.
