City man charged with drug dealing near schools

August 18, 2014

PAWTUCKET – Complaints from neighbors helped local police zero in on a man who was allegedly selling cocaine near two schools Friday morning.

Mauricio Guzman, 30, is held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions, Cranston, after police seized 19 grams of cocaine from his second-floor apartment at 290 Lonsdale Ave.

Undercover narcotics officers obtained a warrant to search Guzman’s apartment Friday after opening an investigation based on neighbors’ complaints about after-hours visitors and high foot traffic at the residence, according to Major Arthur Martins.

“This investigation was the direct result of neighborhood complaints and other sources of information,” Martins said.
