Chief Justice laid to rest

Before an honor guard of Supreme and Superior Court judges and other members of the Rhode Island Judiciary, bearers carry the casket of Chief Justice Joseph R. Weisberger out of St. Brendan Roman Catholic Church in Riverside after a concelebrated mass of Christian Burial there Wednesday morning. Principal Celebrant was the Most Rev. Louis E. Gelineau, former Bishop of Providence. Attendees included Governor Lincoln Chafee, Lt. Governor Elizabeth Roberts, Secretary of State Ralph Mollis and other state and local dignitaries. Weisberger died Friday at age 92.
