Catherine P. Kerr
PAWTUCKET - Catherine P. Kerr of Mount Vernon Boulevard, Pawtucket passed away on December 6, 2013. She was the wife of the late James F. Kerr.
Mrs. Kerr was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts the daughter of the late Thomas Clarke and Eva (Duffy) Clark. She was a lieutenant in the United States Army and Navy serving as a registered nurse during WWII.
After the war Mrs. Kerr was a maternity unit nurse at the Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island in Pawtucket for many years. She was an accomplished writer an avid painter and a longtime Eucharistic minister at St. Teresa's Church in Pawtucket
Mrs. Kerr is survived by her children, James F. Kerr Jr., John C. Kerr and Lisa M. Kerr of Pawtucket and Leslie A. Ryan and her husband Edward of Smithfield.
She also leaves her grandchildren, Kristen Kerr, Brendan Ryan and Brittney Ryan, and her sister Harriett Servais.
Mrs. Kerr was the sister of the late Lt. Col. Mary Clark and Teresa Murphy.
The funeral for Mrs. Kerr will be Wednesday, December 11, at 9:00 am from the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Teresa's Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket at 10:00 am. Her burial will be with full Military Honors in Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery. The calling hours for Mrs. Kerr will be Tuesday from 4-7 pm in the funeral home. For online condolences please visit
