BURRILLVILLE  –  The phenomenal offensive display Cumberland American Little League’s All-Stars assembled on Fourth of July eve wasn’t lost on the victims, Burrillville skipper Chris Toti included.
He had just watched CALL crush 17 hits, with an astonishing nine going for extra bases, as manager Dave Belisle’s crew rolled to an impressive 19-0 “mercy-rule” blowout in a R.I. District IV Major Division (11-12) Tournament winners’ bracket semifinal.
Even the approximate 150 fans on hand at the Richard Peck Fields’ Sherman Park seemed mind-boggled – not to mention silent and awed – on Thursday night.
