Bruce R. Bergeron
SOUTH ATTLEBORO - Bruce R. Bergeron, 58, of South Attleboro, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, November 27, 2013. A lifelong resident of Attleboro, he was the beloved son of Barbara A. (Pitas) Bergeron of South Attleboro and the late Rodolphe S. Bergeron.
Bruce was a graduate of Attleboro High School and played violin in the school orchestra as well as the Attleboro Orchestra. He was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he received a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science. Bruce had been employed as a Computer Engineer at Motorola and also assisted his father in the family business, Central Sheet Metal. He enjoyed traveling to Europe and Canada but especially enjoyed visiting Great Britain; Scotland and Wales. Bruce was a member of the tennis league at Fore Court Racquet and Fitness Club, Cumberland. He enjoyed many hobbies including collecting vintage books; musical scores and other rare antiquities.
Besides his loving mother, Bruce leaves two adoring sisters, Sherrie A. Land and her husband, Dale of Marstons Mills, MA, and Renee I. Bergeron of Attleboro, MA and Griswold, CT; his dear cousin, the brother he never had, David Fontaine of Attleboro; his loving companion of twenty-three years, Jeanine A. Garceau and her daughter, Allena Garceau both of Woonsocket and two nephews, Justin Scheets and his wife, Elizabeth of Abington, MA and Brian Scheets of New York City. He also leaves many aunts, uncles and cousins.
His funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church, 18 Baltic St., South Attleboro. Interment will follow at Newell Burying Ground, South Attleboro. VISITATION will be Sunday 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to your favorite charity would be appreciated.
