PAWTUCKET - Bernard Wiker, 91, passed away Monday December 10, 2012 at the Rhode Island Veterans Home in Bristol. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary A. (Wiewura) Wiker. They were married for 63 years.
Born in Kingston, NH, he was a son of the late John and Katherine (Koczera) Wiker. He lived in Pawtucket for the past 65 years.
Before retiring he was employed as Parts Manager for the former Choquette Appliance Co. for 37 years.
He was a WWII Army Veteran serving as a Captain with the Hospital Corps training section. He was a member of the DAV
He leaves 2 sons J. Gregory Wiker of Stamford, CT and Robert B. Wiker of Pawtucket, 1 granddaughter Marissa Wiker of Philadelphia, PA.
Mr. Wiker's funeral with Military Honors will be held Thursday December 13, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. from the Karol A. Romenski & Sons Funeral Home 342 High Street Central Falls with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Teresa Of The Child Jesus Church, 358 Newport Avenue Pawtucket at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend and may call at the Funeral Home Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations to the Rhode Island Veterans Home Activities Fund 480 Metacom Avenue Bristol, RI 02809 would be greatly appreciated. Burial will be in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
