Bernard P. Devlin
PAWTUCKET - Devlin, Bernard P., 82, of Burgess Avenue, Pawtucket passed away on September 17, 2013, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Patricia (Regan) Devlin. Bernard was born in Pawtucket the son of the late Patrick and Lydia (Masse) Devlin.
Mr. Devlin graduated from St. Raphael Academy in 1949 and went on to the Rhode Island School of Design for drafting. He worked as a draftsman in the Fram Corporation Engineering Department. Bernard also served his country in the Army during the Korean War.
Bernard was a member of the Ireland 32 Club, Irish Social Club, an avid sports enthusiast. He loved gardening, working in his yard, and going out to eat with his many friends and spending summers in Westport, MA.
Besides his wife, Mr. Devlin is survived by his daughter Beth Salisbury and her husband John of Burrillville, his grandson Justin Jobin, step-children Kevin Gibbons, Laurie DiBattista, Patti Newton, Nancy Salamouny, Susan Willemsem, ten step-grandchildren and his sister Virginia Coakley. He is predeceased by his brothers Arthur and Louis Devlin.
The funeral for Mr. Devlin will be Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 9:00 AM from the MANNING HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Teresa's Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket at 10:00 am. Mr. Devlins burial with Full Military Honors will be in Mt. St. Marys Cemetery. His calling hours will be Friday, September 20th from 4:00 - 7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be to the ARC of the Blackstone Valley, 500 Prospect St., Wing B, Suite 203
