EAST PROVIDENCE - Antonio Rebelo, 87, of Mayflower St., died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012 at the RI Hospital. He was the husband of the late Maria do Carmo (Lopes) Rebelo.
Born Sept. 1, 1925, in Penalva do Castelo, Portugal, he was a son of the late Manuel and Herminia (Loureiro) Rebelo.
He is survived by two sons, Emidio M. Rebelo of East Providence and Albano J. Rebelo and his wife Annette of Cincinatti, OH; his granddaughters, Kristen Rebelo of Cleveland, OH and Alison Rebelo of Cincinnati, OH. He is the brother of Odocea Nunes of Pawtucket, Theresa Monuteaux of Fall River, Fernando Rebello of Providence and of the late Maria Fonseca and Terezinha Rebelo.
He worked and retired from Carol Cable of Pawtucket and was a member of the United Steel Workers of America, AFL-CIO, Local 4543. He was also a member of the Lusitania Club of Cumberland.
His funeral will begin Thursday at 8:30am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 7 Fatima Dr., Cumberland. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday, 5-8pm.
