Antonio A. Forte
CUMBERLAND - Antonio A. Forte, 83, of Doire Road, passed away Tuesday at the Philip Hulitar Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of the late Sylvia (Champagne) Forte.
Born in Cumberland he was the son of the late Antonio and Mary (Mascio) Forte. He was a life-long resident of Cumberland.
Mr. Forte was employed as an Operating Engineer for the former Forte Brothers Inc. for over 45 years, retiring in 1993.
Antonio was a communicant of the Historic St. Joseph Church, Mendon Road, Cumberland. After retirement he was an avid woodworker, but most of all loved spending time with his family.
He leaves four children, Joanne Toppa and husband Robert of Cranston, Mary Lynne Miller and husband Thomas of Cumberland, David Forte of Cumberland and Antonio Forte and wife Celine of Smithfield; his sister, Mary Lucy Kelly of Cumberland, Joseph Forte of Cumberland, James Forte of Florida, and Nicholas Forte of Florida; eight grandchidlren, and eight great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Alfred Forte and Antonette Moulson.
A celebration of his life will be held Friday at 11 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial in the Historic St. Joseph Church, Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will be private. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the March of Dimes RI Chapter, 220 West Exchange Street, Suite 003, Providence, RI, 02903 or Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
