CUMBERLAND - Anna M. (McCourt) Scullin of High St. passed away Monday surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred L. Scullin.
A lifelong Cumberland resident she was the daughter of the late Joseph H. and Sarah (Crozier) McCourt.
A graduate of the former R.I.C.E. (R. I. College of Education) now R. I. College, Mrs. Scullin was an Elementary School Teacher with the Cumberland School Department for over 40 years until her retirement. She had taught at the former Central Grammar School, Garvin Elementary School and the B. F. Norton School. She was a communicant of St. Patrick Church and was also a CCD Teacher and member of the St. Patrick Women's Club. Also past member of the Credit Committee of the Cumberland Municipal Employee's Credit Union, a former volunteer for Meals on Wheels and volunteer for St. Vincent de Paul Society.
She leaves five children; Alfred L. Scullin, Jr. of Claremont, CA, John F. Scullin of North Smithfield, Mary E. Redihan, Anne M. Crocker, and Stephen A. Scullin all of Cumberland. Three sisters; Margaret M. O'Connor and Eileen T. Condon both of Cumberland and Mary F. Hogan of Lincoln. Mrs. Scullin also leaves 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joseph L. McCourt and Rosalie E. Lynch.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rte. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, 301 Broad St., Cumberland.
Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Calling hours Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Patrick Church, Fund for the Poor, 301 Broad St.,
