‘Big Brother’ is watching CFPD sergeant

June 23, 2014

CENTRAL FALLS – Central Falls Police Sgt. Derrick V. Levasseur is taking a short break from catching criminals to competing as a contestant on the new season of the long-running CBS reality show “Big Brother,” which premieres its new season Wednesday.

Levasseur, 30, of Providence, is one of 16 houseguests competing for a $500,000 prize this summer.

“I would try and use it (money) to make some positive changes. I would like to give back to my family and help out the kids of Central Falls,” says Levasseur, who became a Central Falls police sergeant after starting with the department as an undercover officer when he was only 20 years old.
