PROVIDENCE â€” None of the members of Rhode Islandâ€™s congressional delegation, all Demo-crats, liked the agreement to raise the nationâ€™s debt limit very much, but all four of them voted for it, saying its passage was necessary to prevent a potentially catastrophic default.
PAWTUCKET â€” A 51-year-old Warwick man, on probation for two previous criminal convictions, including the 1982 murder of a young Pawtucket woman, has been accused in the November 2010 murder of 83-year-old Pauline Buco, also from Pawtucket.
PAWTUCKET â€“ It wasnâ€™t as if Kevin Millwood was deliberately ambiguous when asked if the veteran pitcher envisions finishing the season with the Pawtucket Red Sox. The simple answer is that Millwood doesnâ€™t have one.

CUMBERLAND - Michael G. Gregory, 41, passed August 1st with his loving family by his side.
Raised in Central Falls, a son of George G. and Gloria J. (Desaulniers) Gregory, Michael attended Holy Trinity School, and then St. Raphael's Academy in Pawtucket.
Mike was a five year Army Veteran serving during the first Persian Gulf War.
He then worked for Century Link for many years.
JOHNSTON - Marion (LaFountaine) Fahey, 86, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late J. Linus Fahey.

LINCOLN - A. Michael Reilly, 86, passed August 2nd. He was the husband of Sophie (Gouvalaris) Reilly.
Born in Seekonk, MA a son of the late Michael A. and Rose (Couture) Reilly.
He had been employed for 20 years by the Continental Bronze as a sheet metal fabricator.
He was a third degree Knights of Columbus, Lincoln Council and tended bar at the family business, Reilly's Cafe of Cumberland for many years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Michael A. Reilly also of Lincoln, He was twin brother of the late Eileen LaRose and also Mary Walker.
NARRAGANSETT - Dorothy Shmaruk, 91, formerly of Central Falls, died Monday. She was the wife of the late Michael Shmaruk.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late George and Marie Schroeck. Mrs. Shmaruk served in the US Navy during WWII, enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time with her friends at the senior center.
PAWTUCKET â€“ The topic was Ryan Lavarnway and the most prolific home run hitters to ever to suit up for the Pawtucket Red Sox. After all, when youâ€™ve amassed 13 round trippers in 43 games â€“ Lavarnwayâ€™s mashing rate heading into Mondayâ€™s action â€“ you start flashing back to names like Jim Rice, Sam Horn, Phil Plantier and Izzy Alcantara and the baseballs they made vanish.
PAWTUCKET â€” The Connie Mack Baseball League has always taken a back seat to American Legion baseball during the summer months. And thatâ€™s too bad because there are some good players performing in relative anonymity inside the 12-team Rhode Island organization.

PAWTUCKET- John J. Gawlik 85, passed away Monday August 1, 2011 at Epoch on Blackstone Boulevard. He was the beloved husband of Stella B. (Dzierzyc) Gawlik.
Born in Blackstone, MA he was a son of the late John F. and Victoria M. (Maslon) Gawlik. He was a life long resident of Pawtucket.
Before retiring he was employed as a Machinist for the former G.T. Schjeldahl Co.
Joseph B. Ferreira
CUMBERLAND - Joseph B. Ferreira, 87 of Meeting Street passed away Monday in Memorial Hospital, Pawtucket. He was the husband of Mary C. (Rodrigues) Ferreira.
Born in Central Falls, he was the son of the late Antonio and Francisca Ferreira. He resided in Cumberland for the past 61 years.
He was employed by General Motors formerly of Framingham for over 25 years until his retirement.
He was a WW II, US Navy Veteran.
Roxanne M. Metivier
CUMBERLAND - Roxanne M. Metivier, 36, passed on July 30th from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of Paulette (Turgeon) Robertson and Harold Metivier.
Roxanne was a self-employed animal groomer and was known as a dedicated animal lover.
Joseph A. Keough, Sr.
TAMARAC, FL - Joseph Keough Sr, 72, formerly of Warwick, passed away Friday, July 29, 2011 at Kindred Hospital in Fort Lauderdale. Born in Pawtucket, he was the beloved son of the late Mark and Nancy (Hughes) Keough.
