Martin Owusu Mensah
PAWTUCKET - Martin Owusu Mensah passed away peacefully in his 77th year at his home in Pawtucket, R.I on Monday June 2, 2014, surrounded by family and friends. Mr. Mensah was born on July 10, 1936 in his native Ghana where he served in the military and police force as Chief Inspector for thirty years. In 1989, he moved to the USA and worked at RI Hospitalâ€™s Department of Environmental Services retiring in 2006.
Isabel Silva Correia
PAWTUCKET - Isabel Silva Correia, 91, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL passed away peacefully on May 26, 2014, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Born in Fall River, MA and raised in Portugal before returning to the United States. She lived most of her life in the Pawtucket, East Providence area until moving to Florida in recent years.
Lucienne J. Lemieux
LINCOLN - Lucienne J. Lemieux, 93, passed peacefully with her family by her side on June 11th. She was the wife of the late Gerard N. Lemieux Sr.
She was the daughter of the ate Leodore and Marie L. (Daunais) Larence.
She is survived by a son, Gerard N. Lemieux Jr. and his wife Pauline, a daughter, Jeannine Wilson and her husband Brian, all of North Smithfield, six grandchildren, Keri, Brad, Jennifer, Nicole, Monique and Erica and two great grandsons. Lucienne was a former Cub Scout Den mother at St. Matthew Church.
Lucy M. Frechette
PAWTUCKET - Lucy M. (Beaulieu) Frechette, 84, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Alphee A. Frechette. Born in Montreal, Canada, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Valerie (Lemire) Beaulieu.
Lucy came to the United States in 1950 and resided in Pawtucket most of her life. She was employed by the Little Sisters of the Poor, Jeanne Jugan Residence for many years until retiring.
Alfred J. Catelli
WARWICK - Alfred J. Catelli, 61, passed away Saturday June 7, 2014 at his residence. He was the beloved husband of Jean (Kwiatkowski) Catelli.
Born in Pawtucket he was a son of Dorothy (Robilotto) Catelli and the late William Catelli. He lived in Warwick for the past 10 years.
He was employed as a Truck Mechanic for Trask Petroleum of Providence.
Alfred was a Vietnam Era veteran serving as a Sergeant in the Air Force.
Eleanor M. Mikula
CUMBERLAND - Evelyn M. (Obuchon) Mikula, 86, of Bryant St. and formerly of Naranja, FL. Passed away Saturday in the Philip Hulitar Center, Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Edwin Mikula.
Born and raised in Cumberland she was the daughter of the late Albert and Dora (Chaput) Obuchon. She and her late husband had resided in Naranja, FL for 10 years.
She was a Telephone Operator, employed originally by the former New England Telephone and Telegraph Co. and continued with the transition to Southern Bell in Florida for many years.
Rose M. Peloquin
CUMBERLAND - Rose M. (Picknik) Peloquin, 82, of Poplar Street, Woonsocket, passed away Monday at the Woonsocket Health and Rehabilitation Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Gerard H. Peloquin, and the late John Zemba.
Born in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Agnes (Baton) Peloquin. She resided in Cumberland for most of her life.
She was an avid Bingo player, and loved her chocolate.
Mildred Axon Willett
LANCASTER, KY - Mildred Axon Willett, 94, passed away Friday June 6, 2014. She was born in Cumberland, Rhode Island November 7, 1919, she was the fourth and youngest child of Joseph and Ada Ashworth Axon, and grew up in Valley Falls, Rhode Island.
Eva G. Annis
CENTRAL FALLS - Eva G. Annis (Drolet) 115 Washington St., Central Falls, RI, died unexpectedly June 7, 2014 at the age of 76. She was born in Pawtucket, RI and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Drolet.
Eva is survived by her daughter, Linda M. Fruzzetti and her husband Anthony of Middleboro, MA, her three grandchildren, Angela, Jessica and Felicia; her two great grandchildren, Morgan and Catelin, her dear friend Terry of 48 years and nieces and nephews.
George N. DeWolfe
EAST PROVIDENCE - George N. DeWolfe, 84, of Rumford, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Wednesday, June 4, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Joan C. (Howe) DeWolfe for 62 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Robert and Harriet (Mason) DeWolfe.
Howard Campbell Newsome
MELBOURNE, FL - Howard Campbell Newsome, 84 years old, passed away on May 6, 2014 in Melbourne, Florida, where he had lived since 2007, after moving from Cumberland, Rhode Island. Born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island to Frederick Newsome and Elizabeth Campbell.
Alberto S. Resendes
CUMBERLAND - Alberto S. Resendes, 62 of Broad Street passed away Wednesday at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Lucia M. (Sousa) Resendes.
Born in Ponta Delgada, Feteiras do Sul S. Miguel Azores, he was the son of the late Manuel Costa and Luisa (Farias) Resendes. He has resided in Cumberland for the past 30 years, previously residing in Portugal.
Mr. Resendes was a machine operator for the Carol Cable, Lincoln for 20 years until his retirement.
Member of the Uniao Portuguesa Beneficente, Pawtucket.
Lillian D. Mantha
PAWTUCKET - Lillian D. (Ledoux) Mantha, 91, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 3, 2014. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late George J. and Melina E. (Denoyelle) Ledoux. Lillian was an inspector at Royal Electric, Pawtucket and Woonsocket for many years until retiring.
She leaves her son, Richard W. Mantha with whom she resided; a brother, Edgar G. Ledoux of North Smithfield and a nephew, Brian Ledoux of Pawtucket. She was the sister of the late Arthur L. Ledoux.
CRYSTAL RIVER, FL - Marylouise Martin, 95, formerly of Armistice Blvd, Pawtucket, joined her husband, sisters, mother and father in heaven on January 3, 2014. She was a resident at the Crystal River Nursing Home. She was the wife of Frederick Martin Jr. to whom she was married on February 5, 1944. Born in Providence on Sept. 15, 1919, she was the daughter of Robert Cronin and Angela (Golden) Cronin.
Frances M. Fruzenski
CUMBERLAND - Frances M. (Gallo) Fruzenski, 88, of Bear Hill Road died Monday, June 2, 2014 at St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Karl Fruzenski.
Born in Worcester, MA, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Butera) Gallo, she had lived in Central Falls before moving to Cumberland in 1971.
Mrs. Fruzenski was a jewelry worker at A.T. Cross Company, Lincoln before retiring.
PAWTUCKET - Beatrice Cruz, 94, died Wednesday, June 4, 2014 one day before her 95th birthday at Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island. She was the beloved wife of the late Cesar Cruz, Sr. She was born in Danielson, CT, the daughter of the late Amedie and Josephine (Chaput) Pelletier; she lived most of her life in Pawtucket.
Beatrice was a housekeeper for St. Jude's Church for many years.
Pawtucket â€“ Lillian G. (Dupras) Neumann, 94, passed peacefully on Friday, May 30, 2014. Beloved wife of the late George Otto Neumann. Born in No. Attleboro, she was a daughter of the late Felix J. and Edith G. (Goyette) Dupras. Lillian was a member of St. Matthew-Trinity Lutheran Church; itâ€™s seniors group and the foundress of â€śStitch and Ripâ€ť Knitting Club. She leaves a daughter, Cheryl L. Brooks and her husband, Russell R. of Warwick; two grandsons, Ryan R. and Kyle N. Brooks; nieces and nephews. Sister of the late Anna M. Hebert, Alice Estrella and Ernest â€śBudâ€ť Dupras.
CUMBERLAND - Francisco DaSilva, 91, of Cumberland passed away Sunday. He was the husband of the late Maria Emilia (Machado) NDaSilva.
Born in Cedros, Faial, Acores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Manuel and Rosa DaSilva. He resided in Cumberland for most of his life.
Mr. DaSilva was employed at American Insulated Wire Co. for many years until his retirement.
PAWTUCKET: Germaine Patenaude Kotlarski, 98, passed on June 2nd. She was the wife of the late Arthur E. Patenaude and Joseph Kotlarski.
Born in Canada, she was the daughter of the late Firman and Merilda (Beaudoin) Boudreau.
She had been employed by various textile Mills in the Pawtucket area before retiring.
Germaine was a former member of the Notre Dame Womenâ€™s Club, the Royal Travelers.
