Maria Conceicao Albuquerque

PAWTUCKET - Maria "Connie" Conceicao Albuquerque, 94, a retired seamstress, passed away Monday, April 1, 2013. She was the beloved wife of the late Mario Albuquerque. Born in Portugal, a daughter of the late Felismino and Deolinda (Quinteiro) Caetano, she came to the United States at the age of thirteen years and settled in Pawtucket. Connie was a member of the Portuguese Clubs of Pawtucket.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 195 Walcott Street, Pawtucket, RI.

RAYMOND, NH - Thomas Francis McNeil, 65, died unexpectedly on April 1, 2013 at his home In Raymond, NH. He was born January 2, 1948 in Providence, R.I., son of the late Thomas John McNeil and Eunice Jean (Hardman) McNeil.
Tom grew up in R.I. and MA. He was an United States Navy veteran from 1965-1968, serving some time in Africa and Prudence Island, R.I., during the Vietnam War. In Rhode Island, Tom was proud to own and operate for 10 years, Action Rooter. He had resided in Raymond, NH for the past 17 years.

PAWTUCKET - Kenneth G. Berg, of Lauder Avenue, Pawtucket died on April 2, 2013. He was the husband of the late Jean M. (Russell) Berg.
Mr. Berg was born in Pawtucket, the son of the late Axel G. Berg and Winifred I. (Austin) Berg. He was a lace weaver at the former Seekonk Lace for many years.
Mr. Berg is survived by his children, Gary A. Berg, Larry K. Berg and his wife Beverly, Cheryl Curti, and Susan Allison all of Pawtucket. He also leaves his sisters Eleanor Weissman and Frances Tvenstrvp, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

PAWTUCKET- Mulhern, Sallie Ann (Gately) 75, of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 1, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, in Providence. She was the loving wife of John F. Mulhern. They were married for 46 years.
Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Martin F and Sallie E. (Dunne) Gately.
She was a retail clerk for the former Sears & Roebuck; Ann & Hope, and Building 19 department stores for 35 years until her retirement.
Sallie was a lifelong resident of Pawtucket.

EAST PROVIDENCE - Steakem, Hilda, age 82, of Kenton Ave., died March 31, 2013 at Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of the late James J. Steakem. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late John and Gloria (Raposa) Carreira.
Hilda worked as a secretary for ITT Royal for over 40 years before retiring.
She is survived by her sister Elaine Callender of N. Providence and 7 nieces and nephews.

PAWTUCKET - Ferdinando Moniz, 80, passed away on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Maria T. (Gomes) Moniz for fifty-one years.
Born in Madeira, Portugal, he was a son of the late Joao and Maria (Camara) Moniz. He came to the United States in 1969 and settled in Central Falls before moving to Pawtucket over thirty years ago. Ferdinando was employed by Larson Tool until retiring, and was a member of the Madeira Club, Central Falls.

Born in Urrao Ant. Colombia, a son of the late Jesus and Carlina (Fernandez) Durango.
Mr. Durango was a truck driver.
Besides his wife, he leaves Gabriel Durango, Gladis Gutierrez, Rosa Durango, Job Durango, Guillermo Durango, Leonel Durango, Carlos Mario Durango and Maria Clelia Restrepo. Seventeen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Born in Fall River, MA she was a daughter of the late Leon and Adela (Niksa) Stefanski. She lived in Pawtucket most of her life.
Alice enjoyed sewing and loved animals.
She leaves one son Adam Stempien, one devoted granddaughter Tasha L. Daigle and her husband Jason R. Daigle Sr. of Pawtucket. Mrs. Stempien also leaves two loving grandchildren, Jason R. Jr. and Kelsey J. Daigle. She was the sister of the late Walter Stefanski.

LINCOLN- Robert J. Pickett, 66, formerly of Walker Avenue, passed away Sunday in the U.S. Veterans Hospital, West Roxbury, MA.
Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late William J. and Lucina (Rooney) Pickett. He resided in Norton, MA, for the past 7 years.
He served his county honorably in the United States Army during Vietnam.
Bob was an avid golfer. He was a past president of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, Broad Street, Cumberland.

PAWTUCKET - James A. Grant, 79, of Pawtucket, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late William and Esther (Barton) Grant. James was a machine operator for Texas Instruments for many years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the 82nd Airborne for the Army. He was an avid bowler and played on many leagues. In his later years he took up sculpting amazing life-size statues.

Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Helen (Bichikas) Bouris
Charles worked as a self-employed Baker for many years, delivering baked goods to local businesses and apartment communities for the elderly. He also served his country proudly in the United States Navy, during World War II.

Born in Lisbon, Portugal, a daughter of the late Abilio and Maria (Marques) Margalho, she resided in Pawtucket most of her life.
Julieta was employed by Hasbro for thirty-one years until retiring. She was a member of the Broadway Residents Association and a former member of St. Raymond's Leisure Group and St. Teresa's Seniors.

PAWTUCKET- Maurice D. Patenaude, "Moe" 80, passed March 23rd with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of the late Dolores (Lambert) Patenaude.
He was the son of the late Ernest and Evelyn (Langlois ) Patenaude.
He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War receiving a Bronze Service Star, National Defense Service Medal, UN Nations Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, 1 Overseas Bar and the Presidential Unit Emblem. He was a member of the James A Ryan, AMVETS Post 33 VFW member..

Ed was the son of the late James W. and Mary A. (Atwood) Dyson.
He had been employed by Roger Williams Park as a Swimmer with the Sea Lions for many years and then was the proprietor of J&E Aquarium.
Edward was Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion.

CUMBERLAND - Earl J. Taylor, 73, passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, March 21, 2013. He was the beloved husband of the late Beatrice (Goulart) Taylor.
Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Frank E., Sr. and Victoria R. (Freeman) Taylor. Earl worked in maintenance at Washburn Wire, East Providence, until moving to California forty years ago. After retiring, he resided in Connecticut for ten years until moving to Cumberland five years ago. While in Connecticut, Earl was a coach for the Colchester Little League. His favorite pastime was fishing.
