PAWTUCKET - Theresa Hainey, 86, passed away Monday December 15, 2014. She was the wife of the late Vincent Hainey.
She is survived by her children, Michael Hainey, and Rita Clement.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 12pm in the Costigan-O'Neill Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket. Burial will follow in Mount Saint Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visitation Friday from 11-12 prior to the service in the funeral home. www.oneillfuneralhomes.com
Frederick C. Urbanowicz
PAWTUCKET - Frederick C. Urbanowicz, 70, of Booth Avenue passed away Monday December 15, 2014 at Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island. He was the former husband of Bernardine (Durlack) Urbanowicz.
Born in Pawtucket he was a son of the late Charles and Ann (Farnworth) Urbanowicz. He lived in Pawtucket for the past 6 years and was formerly of Seekonk.
Before retiring Fred was employed as a Master Electrician for C.O. Hoffacker for many years.
He was an U.S. Army SP-5 serving in Vietnam. He was a member of the Elks, VFW and the Moose Lodge, all of Attleboro.
Joseph W. LaBranche
SOUTH ATTLEBORO - Joseph W. LaBranche, 93, of Lincoln, formerly of Tomlinson Road, Attleboro passed away Sunday at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Unit, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Florence M. (Dauray) LaBranche, and they had been married for the past 69 years.
Born in New Market, NH, he was the son of the late Emile and Emma (Thibeault) LaBranche. He resided in Lincoln for the past year, previously residing in South Attleboro since 1975.
Edward J. Miller
PAWTUCKET - Edward J. Miller, 101, of Pawtucket died on December 14, 2014.
Mr. Miller was born in Brooklyn, New York the son of the late Edward J. Miller and Anna (Connors) Miller.
He was a United States Army Veteran of WWII. Mr. Miller landed in Normandy on D Day, June 6, 1946, the Longest Day, where he served as a Medic, and was part of the Allies march to freedom in Europe. When he returned home he was a chef at the Fountain Blue Restaurant in Miami, Florida and then worked in the textile industry here in Rhode Island.
David L. Lapham
SEEKONK - David "Sonny" L. Lapham, 82, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 14, 2014. Born in Central Falls, he was a son of the late Wilbur D. and Blanche M. (Arpin) Lapham.
Linda M. Hebert
PAWTUCKET - Linda M. Hebert of Pawtucket passed into eternal life on December 13, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of Michael Hebert. They had been married twenty years.
Mrs. Hebert was born in Mansfield, Massachusetts.
Besides her husband Linda is survived by her stepson, Michael F. Quinn and her stepdaughters, Dawn M. Moss and Christine M. Moss.
There will be a service for Linda on Thursday morning, December 18, at 10:00 am in the Notre Dame Cemetery, Chapel, Daggett Avenue Pawtucket.
Sheila A. Paquette
LINCOLN - Sheila A. Paquette, 77, formerly of Lincoln died Thursday at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. She was the former wife of the late Raymond J. Paquette.
Born in Providence she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Mary (Flynn) McMahon. She was raised in Providence and lived for several years in Pawtucket. She was a resident of Lincoln for over 40 years until relocating to Attleboro and most recently Swansea within the past several years.
CUMBERLAND - Della Refino, 89, passed on December 12th with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late Earl Henry Refino.
Born in Seekonk, MA a daughter of the late Claudino and Ermlinda (Mendoza) Oliveira.
She had been employed as a jewelry molder for many years; Della then was a school bus monitor for the Town of Lincoln. She loved traveling and spending time with her family.
Mary A. Araujo
CUMBERLAND - Mary A. Araujo, 82, of Cumberland and formerly a life long Fairlawn resident, died December 10, 2014. Mary was born in Pawtucket, daughter to the late Manuel and Mary (Sousa) Araujo Jr.
She was employed by the State of RI Dept. of Business Regulation as an office worker for ten years until her retirement in 1994. She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in Pawtucket, former Sunday school teacher at St. Anthony's Church for over twenty years and a member of Carmelite Ministry.
She is survived by several cousins.
LINCOLN - Madeline Caouette (Brule), 91, passed away Tuesday at home. She was the beloved wife of the late Henri P. Caouette.
Born in Canada she was the daughter of the late Willy and Blandine (Caron) Brule. She had resided in Lincoln for the past 30 years previously residing on Pacific St., Central Falls for 60 years.
She was a supervisor employed by the Hasbro, Corp., working in Pawtucket and Woonsocket for 19 years retiring in 1984. She was previously employed at the former Eddy's Resturaunt, Central Falls.
CENTRAL FALLS - Simone (Moreau) Messier, of Central Falls, died Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the age of 89. Simone was married to former Central Falls Mayor Roland E. Messier for 61 years until his death in 2008.
She is survived by her children Richard (So. Carolina), Paul (Warwick, RI), Susan Flynn (Charlestown, RI) and Janine Cortesa (Uxbridge, MA), nine grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Simone also leaves her siblings Maurice Moreau, Annette Gautreaux, Lucille Gibeault, and Theresa Coulombe. Two brothers, Gerard and Joseph, predeceased her.
Rose M. Morissette
REHOBOTH - Rose M. Morissette, 76, of Rocky Hill Road, passed away Wednesday in the Philip Hulitar Home & Hospice Center, Providence. She was the beloved wife of George O. Morissette.
Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Pelletier) Perrino.
Rhonda Lee Smart
CUMBERLAND - Rhonda Lee Smart, 51 of Main Street passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Gregory J. Reynolds. Born in Woonsocket she was the daughter of James G. Smart and his wife Linda Denosky-Smart of Exeter and Sharon Casey of Florida.
PAWTUCKET - Frank Balkum, 88, passed away December 9, 2014. He was the beloved husband of the late Lillian A. (Pitera) Balkum. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Vincente and Boleslawa (Niedswicki) Balkum. He lived in Pawtucket for the past 60 years.
Before retiring he was employed by General Electric as an accountant for 38 years. Frank was a Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Polish organization PAMBA.
Mary E. Karaniuk
PAWTUCKET - Mary E. Karaniuk, 91, passed away Wednesday December 10, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter Karaniuk.
Born in Cumberland she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Nimnic) Marchick. She lived in Pawtucket for 30 years and was formerly of Lincoln.
Helen was a member of the Polish Young Set.
CLARA MAY RIBEIRO
MENDON, MA - Clara May (Briggs) Ribeiro, 76, of Mendon died December 8 at her residence after an illness.
She was born in Norton, MA; daughter of the late Ernest & Ida (Burgess) Briggs. She was raised in Norton and Attleboro and was a graduate of Attleboro High School. She attended business college majoring in accounting. Clara had been employed as an accountant for Teknor-Apex in Pawtucket and later Texas Instruments. She retired in 2003.
Clara was a member of the First Congregational Church in Milford and participated in Bible study there.
