Christine C. Drake
PAWTUCKET - Christine C. "Chrissy" Drake, 53, of Pawtucket died August 17, 2011 at Miriam Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Bruce D. Drake. She was born in Holland a daughter of Henrietta Tersteege and the late Edward Tersteege. She came to this country 50 years ago settling in Attleboro, MA. She was employed by Fuller Packaging Co. for many years.
Dorothy M. Colomy
PAWTUCKET - Dorothy M. (Herring) Colomy, 84, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2011. She was the beloved wife of the late Jerome H. Colomy, Sr. Born in Providence, the daughter of the late Beatrice (Gardner) Herring, she resided in Pawtucket most of her life.
Dorothy leaves three sons, Jerome H. Colomy, Jr. of Pawtucket, Leslie G. Colomy and his wife Anita of Dexter, Maine and Gordon H. Colomy of Pawtucket; a daughter, Sharon D. Zarzycki and her husband Michael of Rehoboth and four grandchildren, Dan, Katrina, Mike and Nick.
LINCOLN - Claire Morin, 88, passed August 18, 2011. She was the wife of the late John B. Morin.
Claire was the daughter of the late Ernest and Laura (Fournier) Audette.
She had been employed by the City of Central Falls for 33 years retiring as a Deputy City Clerk in 1985.
She is survived by 2 sisters, Anita Moreau and Laure Maynard and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Ernest Audette Jr, Marcel Audette and Estelle Preneta.
PAWTUCKET - Roberto Sostre, 48 of Pawtucket, son of Raul & Luz Maria Sostre passed away on August 17. Rob was the 4th youngest of 12 siblings, Maria, Jorge, Israel, Ebet, Marilyn, Rodrigo, Emily, Raul, Guadalupe, Fernando (RIP) & his baby sister Lisa Dantzler. Besides his siblings Roberto leaves behind his wife Donna Sostre and 3 children Faith, Lil Rob & Shyan along with 2 grandchildren, Tavi & Makaai.
Senator James Costello
LINCOLN - Senator James "Jimmy" Costello was born in Providence on February 25, 1917, the son of Thomas C. Costello and Luiga (Ruggeiro) Costello. James went to school in Providence and North Providence and later took courses in state government administration and business administration at Brown University to help prepare for twin careers in public life and business. On the business side, he also studied at The Chrysler Corporation Master Technician School and the Ford Institute in New York, where he earned the distinction of Master Technician.
M. Louise Carter
BARRINGTON - M. Louise Carter, of Winsor Drive, died peacefully on August 16, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Frank A. Carter Jr.
She is survived by a daughter; Marjorie Carter of Sheridan, WY, a son; Frank A. Carter III of Pawtucket and a sister; Catherine Picerelli of Riverside. She was the sister of the late Anthony D. Picerelli and Peter J. Picerelli Jr.
Clifford M. Wroe
CUMBERLAND - Clifford M. Wroe 85, of Mendon Road passed away Monday August 15, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Lillian F. (Warchol) Wroe. They would have been married 50 years in November.
Born in Pawtucket he was a son of the late James W. and Frances (Lee) Wroe Sr. He lived in Cumberland for the past 18 years.
Before retiring he was employed as a Time Keeper in the Blackstone Valley area Textile Mills.
Mr. Wroe was a WWII Army Veteran.
Mildred E. Kelley
ATTLEBORO - Mildred E. "Millie" Kelley, 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 16, 2011, at the Life Care Center of Attleboro, following a brief illness.
Millie was born and resided at the family home on Robinson Avenue, the only daughter of the late Ellen G. (Greene) & James H. Kelley.
She was the sister of the late Francis P. and James J. Kelley.
She was educated in local schools, and she graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Pawtucket RI, and also Gibbs Business School.
Richard A. Kelley
PROVIDENCE - A memorial Mass will be held for Richard A. Kelley, 60, of Providence, at St. Ann Church, 1493 Cranston St. in Cranston, on Aug. 19 at 11 a.m. He died on Aug. 8 after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his daughters, Olympia Pavoncello-Kelley and Zoe Pavoncello-Kelley and his wife, Bianca Pavoncello. There are no calling hours and burial will be private.
Rosemary A. Michalski
CENTRAL FALLS - Rosemary A. Michalski 72, passed away Friday August 12, 2011 at Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island.
Born in Pawtucket she was a daughter of the late Lawrence H. and Rose A. (Gliniak) Michalski. She was a life long resident of Central Falls.
Before retiring she was employed as Buyer of Children's Accessories at the former Peerless Stores and Ann & Hope. Later she worked for the Blackstone Picture Frame Co.
Joao E. M. Claro
CUMBERLAND - Joao E. M. Claro, 48, of Dorr St. died Sunday in the Memorial Hospital, Pawtucket. He was the beloved husband of Isabel (Laires) Claro.
Born in Penalva do Castelo, Portugal he was the son of Ernesto and Esperanca (Morreira) Claro of Penalva do Castelo, Portugal.
He was the Co-owner of the Cumberland Seafood, Inc. of Macondray St. for the past four years. He was previously employed by the Northeast Cable Co., South Attleboro for twenty years.
Thomas W. Lawson
PAWTUCKET - Thomas W. Lawson, 72, of Broadway passed away Wednesday August 10, 2011 at his home. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Frederick and Jean (Davies) Lawson.
Mr. Lawson was an Acid Etcher for Foxon Packaging for 21 years, retiring in 1995. He served in The United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of Lafayette Club in Pawtucket.
Diana L. Brassard
LINCOLN - Diana L. Brassard 95, of Lincoln, died Monday at Summit Commons, Providence. She was the wife of the late Arthur Brassard. Born in Central Falls, she was a daughter of the late Isaie and Adeline (Paquette) Berard. She was an avid knitter and crocheter.
Mrs. Brassard is survived by her son Jean Brassard and his wife Rachel of Attleboro, her daughter Jeannine Fichter of Lafayette CO and 3 grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Armand, Leo, Romeo and Oscar Berard, Jeannette Kubacki, Rose Beauchemin and Anita Brassard.
Albert D. Burgoyne
CENTRAL FALLS - Albert D. Burgoyne, "Al" 74, passed August 13th with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Constance R. (Tougas) Burgoyne.
Al was the son of the late James and Ivy (Beardsworth) Burgoyne.
He had been employed as a Postal Letter Carrier for 27 years before retiring in 1998.
Al served in the United States Air Force.
Anna M. Rene
PAWTUCKET - Anna M. Rene, 93 of Pawtucket died Saturday at Oak Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Nelson H. Rene, Sr. Born in Central Falls she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Nawashardla) Solotki. She was a Pawtucket resident all of her life.
Prior to Anna's retirement in 1980 she worked as an inspector at the Hope Webbing Company in Pawtucket for 40 years.
Joshua D. Wildenhain
RIVERSIDE - Joshua D. Wildenhain, of Earl Avenue, Riverside passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2011. He was born in Pawtucket the son of Michael and Sheila J. (Marland) Wildenhain of Riverside.
Mr. Wildenhain was a student at Providence College. He had finished his junior year and was looking forward to his graduation in the spring of 2012.
Besides his parents Joshua leaves a brother Christopher Wildenhain of Riverside and his paternal grandparents David A. and Marceline Wildenhain. He was the grandson of the late Harold and Rita (Bradshaw) Marland.
PAWTUCKET - Alcides Soares, 46, passed August 11th.
He was the son of Jose P. and Jovita (Neves) Soares.
Alcides was employed by Donovan Plumbing for many years.
He is survived by his son, Quincy Soares, three brothers, Joe Soares, Tony Soares and John Soares, a sister, Rosa Osborne and several nieces and nephews.
Rita M. Lacourse
PAWTUCKET - Rita M. Lacourse, 88, of Pawtucket, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2011. She was the beloved and devoted wife of Maurice Lacourse. They were happily married for sixty four years. Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Emma (Girouard) Girouard. She had lived in Central Falls for twenty four years before moving to Pawtucket in 1950.
Annette Z. Valliere
PAWTUCKET - Annette Z. Valliere, 88 died on Wednesday at Jeanne Jugan Residence in Pawtucket. Born in Pawtucket and a resident of the city for nearly sixty years, she was the wife of the late Donat Valliere and the daughter of the late Emile and Maria (St. Denis) Baril. She was a communicant of St. Cecilia Church, a devoted homemaker and enjoyed gardening.
