Mildred C. Hartley
LINCOLN - Mildred C. (Gould) Hartley, 88, passed July 26th.
She lived her life right to the very end of it. Her resilient, positive spirit and her sense of humor stayed with her.
She was devoted, loving and generous to her family and they, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, returned that love and devotion in her final hours. She was the wife of the late David Hartley.
Mildred was the daughter of the late Clare A. and Gertrude (Wilding) Gould.
Modesta Marin Gil
PAWTUCKET - Modesta Marin Gil 91, of Palm Bay FL, passed July 23rd. She was the wife of the late Sixto Marin. They were married 61 years.
Born in Santiago de Veraguas, Panama. She resided in the United States since 1982.
Everett R. Williams
LINCOLN - Everett R. Williams 93, of Lincoln, beloved husband of Dorothy Hoyt, passed peacefully Sunday, July 24th at Grandview Center, Cumberland.
He was the son of the late Albert and Anna (Kenworthy) Williams.
Mr. Williams was a toolmaker at Electric Boat in Quonset Point at the time of his retirement in 1985.
He was a passionate trout fisherman and enjoyed the peace and quiet he found in small streams in wooded areas. He was also an avid gardener.
He was a past master and a lifetime member of E.L. Freeman Lodge, now Jenks Lodge #24.
Ronald J. LaBree, Sr.
PAWTUCKET - Ronald "Gov" J. LaBree, Sr., 62, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Joanne (Batista) LaBree for forty-four years. Born in Attleboro, a son of the late Francis W. and Dorothy (LeBrun) LaBree, he resided in South Attleboro before moving to Pawtucket in 1975. He was a member of the Laborers Union Local 271. A devoted grandfather, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their activities.
Maria C. DaGraca
PAWTUCKET - Maria C. DaCosta) DaGraca, 77, of Pawtucket died July 25, 2011. She was the wife of Antonio J. DaGraca. She was born in Brava, Cape Verde a daughter of the late Alfredo and Adelia (Barros) DaCosta. She came to this country 50 years ago settling in Central Falls.
WEST WARWICK - Marie Batalon, 82, of Main Street, W. Warwick, died peacefully and surrounded by loving grandchildren Scott, Amber, Elizabeth, and Sandra, on July 23, 2011 at West View Care Center in W. Warwick. She was the beloved wife of the late Norman F. Batalon who predeceased her.
She was born in Central Falls, RI on January 30, 1929 the loving daughter of Ovilda and Clara (Roy) Boyer. She had attended Central Falls Public Schools.
Until her retirement many years ago, Marie had been an assembler for the Hillsinger Corp. in Plainville.
Arthur Tattersall, Jr.
PAWTUCKET - Arthur Tattersall, Jr., 85 of Pawtucket died Monday at the Pawtucket Health Center. He was the husband of Jean (Drummond) Tattersall. Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Arthur, Sr. and Grace (Sidebottom) Tattersall, he had been a lifelong resident of Pawtucket.
He was a US NAVY veteran of WWII and was employed for many years as the Regional Sales representative for Nissan Motors. He was a Sports Race Car driver.
Joseph Roland Longtin
CUMBERLAND - Joseph Roland Longtin, 82, of Mendon Rd, passed peacefully at home on July 22nd. He was the husband of Ada (Bardsley) Longtin.
Amelia C. DeBurgo
PAWTUCKET - Amelia C. DeBurgo, 97, of Pawtucket died July 22, 2011. She was the wife of the late Albert DeBurgo.
She was born in Brava, Cape Verde a daughter of the late Joao and Maria (Galvao)Coelho. She came to this country 36 years ago settling in Pawtucket.
She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
She is survived by 3 sons Humberto DeBurgo of Cape Verde, Arthur and Eduard DeBurgo both of Pawtucket, 1 sister Maria Coelho of Pawtucket, 4 grandchildren, mother of the late Jose DeBurgo, sister of the late Eugenia DePina.
Joan L. Parent Gilroy
NORTH PROVIDENCE - Joan L.(Michaud) Parent Gilroy, 77, of North Providence and Naples, Florida, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 23, 2011. She was the beloved wife of the late Honorable William G. Gilroy.
Born in New Haven, CT, a daughter of the late Arthur and Helen (Robertson) Michaud, she resided in Pawtucket before moving to North Providence 27 years ago.
Dorothy M. Tondreau
PAWTUCKET - Dorothy M. "Dot" Tondreau, 88, peacefully departed this world in her sleep Thursday, July 21, 2011.
A classically trained painter, Dorothy, known to family and friends as "Dot" or "Dottie," excelled in both watercolor and oil painting. In addition to her talent in painting, she was also a skilled and enthusiastic art teacher to family, several of her nieces and nephews having gone on to become successful artists themselves. With an amusing anecdote for nearly every situation, Dot leaves everyone she knew with an abundance of fond memories.

PAWTUCKET - Josephine C. Tetreault 95, of Ballston Avenue passed away Thursday July 21, 2011 at her residence. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert J. Tetreault.
Born in Pawtucket she was a daughter of the late Martin and Agnes (Lesniak) Czech. She lived in Pawtucket for the past 35 years.
She was a Volunteer at the Pawtucket Memorial Hospital for over 30 years.
WOONSOCKET - Florence (Large) Savage, 100, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Oakland Grove Health Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late George Savage.
Born in Cumberland, a daughter of the late Nathan and Jane A. (White) Large, she had lived in Cumberland all of her life before moving to Woonsocket 12 years ago.
Norma R. Markarian
CUMBERLAND - Norma R. (Robertson) Markarian, 68, of Dexter St. Cumberland, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on July 18, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ruth (Briggs) Robertson. She was the Founder of Bibs Plus and Dolls Boutique. She was employed by Health-Tex for many years and a CNA at Mt. St. Rita Health Center. She was the Proud Founder of Valley Chapel and was a member of Queen Esther Chapter No. 2, O.E.S.
Leo E. Legare 1932 - 2011
MONCTON, NB - Leo Legare, of Moncton, NB passed away at his residence on Saturday, July 16th, 2011 with his loving wife by his side. Born in Central Falls R.I. he was the son of the late Joseph and Bertha (Giroux) Legare. Leo worked for many years as an Assembler at Wardwell Braid.
Leo will be sadly missed by Loving wife of 58 years Claire (Fournier); sister-in-law Aline Crawford; two nephews Dennis and David Murphy; one great niece Klaudia Rogers and by several cousins. By personal request there will be no visitation or funeral service.
PAWTUCKET - Denise Green, 62, former Providence head start teacher, of School Street, Pawtucket, died Saturday at Miriam Hospital. She was the wife of the late Douglas LaFrance Sr.
Born in Pawtucket, daughter of the late John and Ann (Ousley) McParlin.
She is survived by daughters Eulanda and Evelyn LaFrance, sisters, Nancy, Sandra, Cheryl and Diane McParlin, God-daughter, Gina Kearns, and 8 grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Richard Allen Gibson and sister to the late John McParlin III.
Elza M. Marques
JOHNSTON - Elza M. (Machado) Marques, 84, of Old Pocasset Lane, passed away Monday, July 18, 2011. She was the wife of the late Francisco Marques.
She was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, a daughter of the late Amadeu B. and Maria (da Conceicao) Machado.
Beatrice I. Benoit
CUMBERLAND - Beatrice I. Benoit, 90, of Cumberland, died Monday at St. Antoine Residence, N. Smithfield. She was the wife of Maurice Benoit. They had been married 72 years.
Joseph L. Smith
CUMBERLAND - Joseph L. Smith, 88, of Ronald Ave. died Sunday in the Mt. St. Rita Health Center, Cumberland. He was the beloved husband of Sheila (Brannigan) Smith.
Born in Cumberland he was the son of the late Fred and Emma (Brown) Smith. He was a lifelong Cumberland resident.
Mr. Smith was a 20 year U. S. Air Force retiree serving during WW II; he had also served during the Korean Conflict retiring as a Master Sergeant. After retirement from the Air Force Mr. Smith began a 20 plus year service with the Cumberland Water Department retiring in 1988.
CUMBERLAND - Arnold Sousa, 86 of Hilltop Road, passed away Sunday in the Grandview Center, Cumberland. He was the loving husband of Esmeralda (Gonzalez) Sousa.
Born in the Valley Falls section of Cumberland, he was the son of the late Cypriano and Theresa (Gomes) Sousa. He was a lifelong resident of Cumberland.
Mr. Sousa was a Life Underwriter for the Boston Mutual Life Insurance Co., retiring 1983. He owned the former Arnolds Market in Central Falls and also worked for four years at the former Owens-Corning Firberglass.
He was a WW II US Navy Veteran.
