Howell J. Smith Jr.
PAWTUCKET - Howell J. Smith Jr., of Pawtucket, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. He was the husband of Janet Cosimini Smith for 62 years. Howell was born in Central Falls the son of the late Howell and Margaret (Little) Smith, Sr.
As a founder of Howell Smith Druggist, he has been serving the Pawtucket community since it opened in 1938 by his father. In 1966, Howell and his wife, Janet, modernized the pharmacy to what it is today, and his son, Howell Smith III, will carry on the family business.
Albert A. Montminy, Sr.
PAWTUCKET - Albert A. Montminy, Sr. of Pawtucket died January 25, 2012 at home after a long illness. He was the husband of Dorothy D. (Mahoney) Montminy. They had been married for over 30 years.
He was a member of the United States Marine Corps., serving in the Korean War.
Mr. Montminy was born in Pawtucket, the son of the late Abraham and Rose Montminy. He was employed by Broudere Windows for many years before he retired in 1991.
Arnie J. Carello
PAWTUCKET - Arnie J. Carello of Pawtucket died January 23, 2012 at his home. He was born in Pawtucket, the son of the Anthony J. and Alice (Soares) Carello. He was employed for many years as a chef in Florida at the Marriott. Most recently, he was employed at Shaw's Market in East Providence, RI.

Alexander H. Messier
PAWTUCKET - Alexander H. Messier, 87, of Pawtucket, passed away Friday, January 20, 2012. He was the husband of Geraldine (Moseley) Messier. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Alexander and Emily (Garreau) Messier. Mr. Messier was a lifelong resident of Pawtucket. He was a navy veteran of World War II.
He was a sales representative for Ford Aluminum Products for many years, retiring in 1991. He later worked as a starter at Stone E. Lea Golf Course for over twenty years.
George A. Robichaud, Jr.
CHEPACHET - George A. Robichaud, Jr., 56, of Chepachet passed away Monday at Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the beloved husband of Kate M. (McIlmail) Robichaud for 33 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late George A. and Rita G. (Martel) Robichaud.
George was a Quality Control Manager for New England Paper Tube Co. in Pawtucket for 20 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had a great sense of humor and a generous heart.
Agnes E. Snow
PAWTUCKET - Agnes E. Snow, 93, of Pawtucket passed away Monday, January 23, 2012, at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Francis J. Snow.
Mrs. Snow was born in Pawtucket, the daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Shanley) Kirk. She was a kindergarten teacher in the Pawtucket School System at the Elizabeth Baldwin School for many years.
G. Kenneth Juckett
PAWTUCKET - G. Kenneth Juckett, 85, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2012. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Oliver H. and Ethel M.(Mason) Juckett. Ken was a World War II and Korean War U.S. Navy veteran. He was a machinist for over thirty years at New England Machine and Electric, Pawtucket until retiring. Ken was a life member of the American Legion; member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and AMVETS.
Francis M. White, Sr.
CUMBERLAND - Francis M. White, Sr., 67, of Mendon Rd., Cumberland, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at home. He was the beloved husband for 39 years of Florence A. "Flo" (Chase) White. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Lester and Adeline (Whitman) White.
Francis worked in the food industry for many years before retiring.
Eduino S. Escobar
PAWTUCKET - Eduino S. Escobar, 87, passed away January 22nd. He was the husband of the late Adelina (Pires) Escobar. Born in Cedros, Fayal, Azores, he came to the United States in 1969 and was employed as a maintenance man at Elizabeth Webbing Company. He was the son of the late Jose Silveira de Escobar and Filomena Emilia de Lacerda.
PAWTUCKET - Joseph Medeiros, 87, of Pawtucket, passed away on January 21, 2012 at St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. He leaves his wife of 57 years, Jeanne (Debooserie) Medeiros and daughter Jo Anne Medeiros of Pawtucket, sons Michael and wife Kim Medeiros of Cumberland, Paul Medeiros of Cranston, Jon Medeiros of Exeter and James Medeiros of New York. He leaves two grandchildren, Alyssa and Matthew Medeiros of Cumberland, as well as niece Kathy Pattison and nephew Joseph Medeiros.
Lucien J. Lanctot
PAWTUCKET - Lucien J. Lanctot, 83, passed away on January 23rd. He was the husband of Lillian (Lepage) Lanctot.
Born in Lincoln, he was a son of the late Louis and Clarinda (Gagnon) Lanctot.
Lucien had been employed by Haskall Manufacturing for 20 years.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, a life member of the DAV and VFW and also was a member of the Royal Travelers for 20 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 3 sisters, Louise, Doris and Claire, 5 brothers, Edward, Francis, Aldor, Joseph and Raymond Lanctot. He was the brother of the late Romeo and Leon Lanctot.
William R. Whitmarsh
PAWTUCKET - William R. Whitmarsh, 77, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2012. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was a son of the late William G. and Selma â€śSalâ€ť C. (Maiwald) Whitmarsh.
Bill served in the RI Army National Guard. He was a cloth printer at Duro Printers, Fall River until retiring and was previously employed at Cranston Print Works. Bill was a drummer in his own three piece band many years ago.
He leaves his sister, Edith V. Courchene of Port Richey, Florida; his brother, Earl F. Whitmarsh of Hudson, Florida and four nephews.
Henry J. Dumas
KANSAS - Henry J. "Hank" Dumas, 85, of Hutchinson, Kansas, died January 20, 2012 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born November 9, 1926 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, the son of Joseph Y. & Roseanna Theroux Dumas. He attended school and graduated from high school in Pawtucket in 1944. He joined the U.S. Navy right out of school and served for 20 years.
Claire A. Tetreault
ATTLEBORO - Claire A. Tetreault, 72, of Attleboro, surrounded by her family, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Norwood Hospital. Born in Central Falls, Rhode Island on May 29, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Pearl (Eliott) Marcotte of Central Falls, RI.
She attended Notre Dame Academy in Rhode Island and recently attended her 50th reunion in 2010. She was an active member of St. Stephen's Church and later Our Lady Queen of Martyrs, where she was proud to serve as a Eucharistic Minister and prayer chain member.
Jose G. Dutra
PAWTUCKET. Jose G. Dutra, of Oakland Avenue, passed away Saturday, after an illness. He was the husband of Armanda (Oliveira) Dutra.
He was born in Faial, Azores, a son of the late Jose Garcia and Maria Augusta (Dias) Dutra. Mr. Dutra has lived in Pawtucket for the last 29 years.
He had been employed in the maintenance department of the former Elizabeth Webbing Co. for several years before retiring.
Claire J. Dyson
PAWTUCKET - Claire J. Dyson, 87, of Benefit St. passed away Saturday at Pawtucket Health & Rehabilitation Center after an illness. She was the wife of the late David A. Dyson.
She was born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late Albert J. and Blanche H. (Chenail) Diggett. She had lived most of her life in Pawtucket. She had been employed in housekeeping at the former Carties Health Center.
James W. McLaughlin Sr.
CENTRAL FALLS - James W. McLaughlin Sr, "Jim" 77, passed January 21st. He was the husband of the late Dolores (LaPlume) McLaughlin.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Alfred and Margaret (Grant) McLaughlin.
Jim had been employed by varies textile companies in the Blackstone Valley area and then worked of St. Vincent de Paul for ten years before retiring.
Raymond J. Ambrose
PAWTUCKET - Raymond J. Ambrose, 79, of Pawtucket, died Tuesday evening, January 17, 2012 at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, Pawtucket. He was the husband of the late Eileen R. (Maguire) Ambrose.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph C. and Stella (Koziusko)Ambrose.
Raymond was a construction and maintenance electrician at Texas Instruments, Inc., in Attleboro, Massachusetts, for thirty-two years, retiring in 1997.
Albert C. Wingate
PAWTUCKET - Albert C. Wingate, 71, of East Avenue, died Thursday, January 19, at the Philip Hulitar In-Patient Center, Providence.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Henry R. and Mary L. (Miller) Wingate, he was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mr. Wingate was a Department Manager for Almacs Supermarkets for many years. He was a veteran of the Rhode Island Army National Guard.
